This is a considerable landmark in the history of the Federation, and early in 2005 IBF Council & Secretariat started thinking of the best ways of celebrating the event!
Here below is a description of the events which will take place in 2006.

IBF MEMBERS TO SELECT 50 UNIQUE BOOKSHOPS BY 31.03.2006

IBF is inviting its full members to select pictures of 50 UNIQUE BOOKSHOPS. The idea is TO PRODUCE A 2-YEAR CALENDAR (2007-2008) to be launched at a special, and very high-level event at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2006.
If time and resources allow, a book, with text about the bookshops along with quotations from famous writers might follow, all depending on the sponsorship IBF manages to raise.
Not only will the initiative be very rewarding for booksellers, but it will also provide a fantastic marketing tool for promoting the image of booksellers worldwide.
